Mitsubishi to Launch the LVP-HC6000 Projector

Mitsubishi LVP-HC6000Mitsubishi is in the around $3000 projector game now with the new LVP-HC6000. It comes in direct competition with the Panasonic PT-AE100U and Epson Powerlite projectors and can keep up and even surpass them because of some features.

Design wise it is not that innovative but the projected image is the one that really counts with this model. We have here a three-chip LCD projector that can put out a contrast ratio of 12,000 to 1 according to Mitsubishi. This spec is achieved thanks to an automatic iris mechanism that adjusts dynamically based on the brightness of the scene used. What is truly surprizing is the “sirocco fan” announced, one that puts out only 19dB. This would make it the quietest projector ever designed and an important feature in making clients purchase it.

October is the announced release date for the LVP-HC6000 in Japan and if it is successful it will surely reach USA as well in the near future. The price will probably be around $3000 and a little more in US. According to Mitsubishi PR office, this version of the projector will not be sold in America but:

“This product is for Japan only; the product that is being introduced in the US market has a different name, specs and price.”

No matter when or how, the Mitsubishi LVP-HC6000 will reach USA eventually and if the two main features (contrast ratio and noise) are kept, we will have a really competing 1080p projector here.
