Yahoo just started putting Mash, their social networking web site that allows Yahoo users to share pieces of information with each other, in beta tests. The fail of Yahoo 360 did not stop the company and now they have another attempt at entering the social networking business. They even tried purchasing Facebbook, but that failed as well. Nothing is really known about Yahoo Mash but one thing is announced and seems very strange to us: Yahoo users will be able to edit profiles that belong to their friends. Does that mean that I can say in his profile that “Billy is a lazy guy that does not have a social life so avoid him” with ease? This just does not seem right. A number of beta testers were invited to start off things and see how Yahoo Mash works, looks and feels. As expected, there is an almost complete lack of many features that a regular social network system has like private messaging or posting personal information. We will have to see how this develops!
