The New New Year’s Ball in Times Sqaure

New New Year Ball

People have wanted this for a long time and now they have it. The old New Year’s Ball in Times Square, New York (the one with the 600 bulbs and old Sci-Fi Movie look and feel) is now replaced with a new and improved Ball. This new model features an impressive set of 9,576 LEDs and can show 16 million colors and even displays video. It all costs $1.1 million and consumes energy that could power 10 toasters. To make it all even better, the sparks you see are created by Waterford crystals (this is actually better than Swarovski). It seems that this New Year will be quite special and I can’t wait to see how this nifty New Year’s Ball will look like in the impressive setting of Times Square.
