Teleportation - Still A Long Way

Three years ago scientists managed to successfully teleport a quantum state of an atom. This was done after understanding quantum entanglement happened around 6 years ago. So we need to think if we are anywhere nearer teleportation than three years ago. Well, scientists have been focusing on trying to teleport the atomic state of the atom in a different location but it seems that the destruction of the original atom does not create the copy we want. Charles Bennett, IBM Research stated:

”….the teleported person would end up slightly different, but not in a biologically important way.”

We must realize that teleportation is still a long way from happeneing as the human body is made out of around 1028 atoms and we can not even think about the possibility of such large scale destruction and reproduction. It does look like we will not see teleportation in real life, in this lifetime.
