Project Zero 4 Release Date

Fatal Frame 4 release date

This is one game that is known around the world under two names, based on where you live: Project Zero or Fatal Frame. Regardless the name, this is definitely one of the creepiest video games you have ever played and based on the screenshots we saw at GameSpot (be sure to click next and previous to see all the screenshots), the newest game in the series is sure to keep us entertained the same way, if not more.

What is interesting is that the new game will only be released for the Nintendo Wii, something that is a good marketing approach since there are not many adult games for the Wii. We do expect the actual launch to have a lot of press coverage, it being dated on the 31st of July in Japan. The release dates for the other countries have not been published but they should be close.

If you looked (or will look) at the screenshots (linked above) you will notice that the game looks really good and I dare to say that it should be the one with the most polished look ever on the Nintendo Wii. Using the Wiimore in order to control the character should fit the game since the camera is actually your “weapon” (so to speak). We recommend that you try other Fatal Frame (or Project Zero) games in the series if you do not have a Nintendo Wii and if you have one you should definitely purchase this title, unless you are faint of heart. The ghosts are tremendous and you might have the feeling you are located in a horror movie.

Resident Evil 5 to be Released Before March 2009

RE5 to be releasedA lot of gamers are eagerly waiting for the upcoming Resident Evil 5 game and so far not much was known except some screenshots that were released by Capcom. If you saw them you surely noticed that the franchise is going towards a new direction that actually started in Resident Evil 4, with the introduction of various gameplay elements. The bad news is that everybody is keeping the release date a secret although news concerning it have appeared. A business presentation by Capcom was held last week and we did find out a little about Resident Evil 5. It seems that the company plans to launch the game and others from their franchises before the end of March 2009. Capcom seemed to be very happy with RE5 and they think that the game will sell around 2.3 million copies around the world, something that can be achieved if we think about a game that should be better than its predecessor.

New Metal Blue PSP

The Playstation Portable is certainly doing great and we see it dominating the Japanese charts and there are even other countries that see the PSP selling quite well. Now we get to see that Sony has decided to launch a new color variation for the handheld gaming device. It will be metal blue, a color that does not look that great but does not look bad either. The trick is that you will only be able to purchase the new Metal Blue PSP if you purchase the “Madden Bundle”. It comes with Madden 09, “NFL: In Just One Play” UMD video, 1 GB memory stick and a coupon that allows you to download Beats from the Sony online store. The entire bundle will cost $200. It is definitely not a bad deal although I doubt that many individuals will end up playing Madden on a PSP.

No Blu-Ray for XBox 360 in UK

It is now almost official as Neil Thompson, head of Xbox in UK, confirmed that XBox will not include the Blu Ray player in an update as the company did with the HD-DVD drive. Instead, they are going to put a focus on downloadable content. It is not a real surprise as Xbox Live was pretty successful so far and the inclusion of the Blu-Ray drive in the XBox 360 would mean Microsoft bowing their head even more in favor of the high definition format they did not choose to support. A special emphasis was put by Thompson on the fact that nobody was forced to buy the HD-DVD drive although his personal view on things is that this fact is a poor excuse that appeared for the lack of support. It does seem that Microsoft will be focusing in UK on “digital domain”. The people that bought the drive will not receive a free game, as it was rumored in the past. People will be grumpy but hey, you make the decision for what you purchase, right?

Street Fighter IV in the Making

A lot of people have spent hours, days, maybe even weeks or months playing Street Fighter. It is one game that did captivate and help out the world of 2D fighting games in a positive manner. Although there are also people that will deny the importance of the Street Fighter franchise on the world of fighting games, what is for sure is that a new Street Fighter Game will appear and will be called Street Fighter IV: A New Beginning. So far we do not know much about it. We do not know if the game will be available for PS2, PS3, XBOX, PCs or anything basically. All we have is a pen and ink digital trailer that looks pretty cool and that can be viewed HERE. If you want to know the news linked to Street Fighter IV first you should keep an eye on the official Capcom blog.

PSP Game Downloads

PSP Game DownloadsSony’s portable version of the highly popular video game console PlayStation is one that comes with a lot more than regular video game play. The PSP comes with a built in web browser and wireless Internet capabilities. You should know that the PSP can do a lot of things, even DVD playback and photo editing. Such a gadget makes it easy for Sony to market it in different ways including PSP game downloads. Such features are actually easy to download directly in the PSP and this adds a lot of extra stuff to the normal functions we notice in video game systems. PSP game downloads are usually used to make players remain hooked on old games and creates a great platform for Sony to advertise and even convince gamers to purchase more games. Needless to say that this was a success so far and that Sony will want to keep it going.

PSP - More Than Games

We do see PSP game downloads appearing in different forms. One of the most popular we notice stands in PSP demos, which are shortened versions of new games that Read more »

PS2 shift to PS3 still not Happening

PlayStation 2We are now near the one year mark of PlayStation 3 existence and we must say that things did not go as Sony pictured it. The highly popular PlayStation 2 is still leading in sales for the company and it is not the PSP or the PS3 as many did expect. We saw that last month there were 215 thousand PS2 sold. Only 119,400 PlayStation 3 game consoles were sold. Why is this happening? Well, the answer is obvious. For the regular gamer, the low price of the PS2 and the many games available are the two reasons why it is still preferred. On the other hand, the PlayStation 3 video game console is not cheap and does not come with many available titles to showcase.

This is the seventh year of existence for the PlayStation 2 and it still has incredible market strength. On the other hand, this is quite good for Sony as they do claim their video game consoles come with a 10 year life cycle when planned. We are still 3 years away from this mark though and it is hard to imagine that the PS2 will still hold on when compared with the PS3 until that mark. This video game console will eventually be left out but we are soon getting into the holiday season and Sony still wants to profit from the PlayStation 2 video game console. The company will be launching a special edition Ceramic White PlayStation 2 console that will come with 2 microphones and SingStarPro included. We can also see that Rock Band and Guitar Hero 3 will be launched for PS2 soon so we must think that the console is still important for Sony.

Unreal Tournament 3 Beta Demo

Well, gamers from around the world have been waiting for Unreal Tournament 3 for a long time now. We still do not have the game out but at least we have a little teaser to play with. The only bad news I can give you is that you will not be enjoying a full demo but only 2 deathmatch maps and one capture the flag map. Although different modifications are sure to appear, testing with this little beta will be fun. BEWARE! The demo has 741.03 MB. Kind of leaves me wondering how big the game will be when it will be fully launched!

No More PS3 to Download PSP Games in Japan

PSP

The PlayStation Store makes it possible for gamers to connect to the PlayStation 3 console with their PSP in order to download some classic PlayStation One games to play on their handheld. This brings a small problem as those individuals that do not own a PS3 can not access the feature. Well, this changed, in Japan at least. Sony recently announced that the PlayStation Store is now accessible to PC users connected to the Internet. Unfortunately, this feature will only be available in Japan so not much of a good news here. The company is struggling and this seems like a good move, if it were to be available around the world and not in Japan only.

Sony DualShock 3 Announced

All gamers have been waiting for this and it finally arrived. Sony will finally put on sale a new SIXAXIS in the DualShock 3 controller of the PlayStation game console. Well, this new controller looks exactly like the one with DualShock 2 and will appear in Japan this November. As always, Americans need to wait more. The launch date in USA and Europe is expected in spring 2008. Once again, Japan gets all the fun. The good news is that there are games that already support DualShock 3 and you can update most existing games over the PlayStation Network. So, since we are not really interested in what games will have this feature in Japan, let us take a look at some games that will be DualShock 3 ready in North America: The Darkness, Devil May Cry 4, Soldier of Fortune, Kane & Lynch: Dead Men, Legendary: The Box Gamecock, WarDevil - Unleash the Beast, TNA Wrestling, Unreal Tournament 3, Condemned 2, The Incredible Hulk, MLB 08: The Show , NBA 2008, Assassin’s Creed, NBA 2K8 Take Two Sports, HAZE, The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and a lot of others.
